Frequently hailed as Ireland’s answer to Bridge Jones, this Irish best seller just landed a movie deal. It’s a funny and charming story about small-town girl Aisling, who, when her boyfriend doesn’t propose during a holiday in Tenerife decides she’s not just done with him, she’s done with her provincial life, too. Along with a pal from HR and her mysterious friend, Elaine, she moves to Portobello, an area in Dublin, to live a big-city life. Aisling, the character, is funny and delightful. And the book if full of commentary on Irish life that is fun to read, too.
