by Wendy E. Simmons
It takes a special person to have the desire to visit North Korea for fun. Or maybe it takes an insane person? It’s so confusing to keep track…regardless, we’re glad Simmons went because now we know the rest of us don’t have to (unless we’re special and/or insane). Alternating between funny and frightening, these tales of the Potemkin Village presented to tourists in North Korea are a must-read. With never-before-seen photographs the book is the next best thing to being there (and it’s much safer).
